Virtus.pro and Titan are both through to the FACEIT Spring League 2014 playoffs, knocking out TEAMGLOBAL, who now finish 5th overall.
When the 7th day of play concluded, Dignitas and Team-LDLC were placed first and second, respectively, but the last two places remained undecided, with Virtus.pro, Titan, and TEAMGLOBAL locked in a three-way tie.
With the head-to-head results all tied up, FACEIT organisers chose to conduct a mini-league in which each of the three teams would play each other in a best-of-one contest in order to determine two victors.
In the first match, Virtus faced off against Titan on mirage, resulting in a victory for the Polish side, who took the map 16-7.
Virtus.pro finished the mini-league with two convincing wins
Unfortunately, the next two matches, in which TEAMGLOBAL faced off against Virtus (on cache) and Titan (on dust2), saw three players from the Swedish team plagued by DDOS attacks, causing them to play without GOTV or a public stream in order to avoid further issues.
GLOBAL went on to lose 8-16 and 7-16, respectively, resulting in their elimination.
The playoffs will feature a best-of-three, double elimination bracket, to be played out according to the following schedule:
